I love beautiful tarot and oracle cards, so for each chapter of each novel I write, I draw a card from one of my decks and read it intuitively. For this chapter, I drew the Six of Wands Card – Reverse Tarot. See the bottom of the page for information about the novel.

Over (Chapter 14 ), The Lost Teachings of Dead Monks
More sixes! One of the previous cards representing Charlie was the Six of Swords, and now we have another six, the Six of Wands from the ReverseTarot deck.
Sixes mean a restoring of balance.
For Charlie, that’s the addiction to the support he gives in rescuing his latest damsel in distress.
The Six of Wands is often seen as the triumphant military leader returning from battle, and the front of the card in this deck is definitely that, with praise from his supporters.
The card from a different point of view (reverse side) shows the destruction in the distance and the bloodied warriors.
In the beginning of this chapter, Lilah is hurt by new revelations but ready to be done with Charlie, yet when he starts to say goodbye, the love for him is still there.
In a way, she is triumphant after the battle because she chooses not to revert to a needier, less emotionally healthy self, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t (literally) bruised and bloodied and that there’s not destruction all around. This is a more realistic view. To others, she will appear triumphant but that’s not the whole story. It hurt to get to this place.
Law of Attraction, magical library, ancient artifact, witches and librarians. Both Lilah and Charlie try to use the Law of Attraction to get what they want but manifest their fears instead.
